Crossing under the Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

FORWARD GROUP is an international company, specializing in designing and producing underground drill rigs, coring drill rigs and vertical drilling equipment. In the beginning of 2019 in cooperation with a client from Vietnam we successfully carried out the laying of water pipe by new unique FORWARD RX100×500 HDD equipment (thrust-pullback force 100 ton.) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The water pipeline with a diameter of 710 mm was crossed under the Saigon River, which width was 300 m. Construction works were complicated by water level difference and sandy deposits in the river bed. The poor ground condition can lead to the well walls collapse. However, FORWARD RX100×500 HDD drilling equipment managed to meet rough geotechnical conditions, successfully carried out crossing under the Saigon River and received positive reviews of the clients from Vietnam.
